Happy New Year!
I looooove the holidays. Everything about the holidays. I love putting up the tree. I have the same amount of gusto tearing it back down. I love gifting family and friends as we're able. I love watching the kids faces light up with excitement as the paper rips away revealing the treasure underneath. I love eating Christmas yummies. And singing Christmas carols. I love snuggling up and reading the Nativity Story together. I love watching Christmas flicks. Our fave this year was the Veggie Tales: Saint Nicolas - a story of joyful giving. I love the clean slate feeling of entering a new year. Bye bye yesterday. Hellooooo today! Doesn't every one like a fresh start?
The My House Team is looking forward to brain storming & trying some new things this year as well! We have a spiffy new website which is being edited as time allows. Also we'll be attempting to put together a monthly (or bi-montly...or maybe even tri-monthly) email just for you.

And thank you for giving us the joy of teaching Jesus to your children!

Speaking of ideas & organizing! How great is this one!

Hang it in your mud room or where ever you make your family disrobe their snowy slushy winter gear. But fill it with hats, mittens, scarves and other snow essentials rather than shoes! If you have more than one kiddo like I. And if you happen to like things hyper organized. Like me. You're gonna love it!

We'd love to hear from you. Share some of your family fresh starts for this year in the comments:
- Are you going to start making an effort to pray together as a family?
- Maybe you've been thinking about buying a devotional book to read together consistently. This one has me itching to pull out my wallet and place an order.
- One that I've been feeling (Holy Spirit? Is that you?) nudged towards is launching a family game night. We have a couch potato habit in our house. Which, I cannot lie, is nice. Little kids are so warm and snuggly on bitter winter nights. But it fosters much more shhhhhh-ing than sharing. Don't hold my feet to the fire though! I'm a reluctant gamer! But...I am also a mommy. And I crave opportunities to leave Jesus imprints on the heart of my children. Maybe a good old fashioned game of Monopoly will provide that chance?
